Hi 😊 I just came across the youtube video Acrylic Paint vs Textile Paint and I want to share my experience 😇 I'm using acrylic paint and mixing it with a medium for textile paint to make it textile. Then the colors are brighter (in my opinion) than if I were using plain textile paint. The important thing is to use cotton denim and high-quality acrylic paint (in my case it's Amsterdam). Yes, the painting won't be as soft as you would use pure textile paint, but it's not that bad either 😅 Moreover, it's durable if the washing procedure is followed (handwash, cold water, no extensive rubbing). I also use textile paint to customise linen bags, so I know how good textile paint can be. However, again, I think the crucial part of your painting being durable depends on the material. Linen fabric is perfect, as it's not stretchy (as well as cotton demin) 😄 Here, I want to say thank you for your tips and this blog - the place where I can talk to people who share the same passion. I'm happy I found it 😍

Hi Vika, oh wow your works are fantastic!
You're absolutely right, the type of fabric defines our selection of paint. And when it comes to something like a tote bag or the back of a loose fit denim shirt - good quality acrylics and a proper application technique are expected to deliver great results.
I'm glad you've joined this space and shared your experience! Clearly you'll be a valuable member 🤗
